Lyrics
[Verse 1] You took my hand beside the old palm tree While market drums rolled softly from the square Your sandals slipped; you laughed and leaned on me And warm salt air was moving through your hair [Chorus] Come dance with me, right here in the sand No plans to make, no place we need to be The island keeps the time; i hold your hand And every little turn brings you to me [Verse 2] A vendor packed his oranges away The lanterns warmed the tables by the shore You spun once more and asked me if i’d stay I said, “my love, i’ve nowhere else to go” [Chorus] Come dance with me, right here in the sand No plans to make, no place we need to be The island keeps the time; i hold your hand And every little turn brings you to me [Bridge] The night can take its time, the tide can roll Your easy smile is all the song i know [Chorus] Come dance with me, right here in the sand No plans to make, no place we need to be The island keeps the time; i hold your hand And every little turn brings you to me [Outro] One more turn beneath the palm tree One more laugh, just you and me
