Երգի խոսքեր
[Տուն 1] You found a blue kite folded in the drawer Beside two buttons and a map with no north Its paper tail was tied with yellow thread And someone’s careful handwriting said [Նախաքնարերգ] Take it where the tall grass bends See what the open country sends [Կրկներգ] Let it climb above the old stone wall Let it choose the wind, let it choose it all If it circles once, then turns toward you Maybe lost things know what they should do [Տուն 2] A little boy came running down the lane With muddy shoes and a pocket full of rain He said, “that kite belonged to my grandfather He drew a bird there, but the bird flew off somehow” [Նախաքնարերգ] So we held the string between our hands And watched the sky redraw its plans [Կրկներգ] Let it climb above the old stone wall Let it choose the wind, let it choose it all If it circles once, then turns toward you Maybe lost things know what they should do [Կամուրջ] The paper trembled, then it found its place A crooked bird with a brave blue face The boy laughed loud, i laughed along And the empty drawer became a song [Կրկներգ] Let it climb above the old stone wall Let it choose the wind, let it choose it all If it circles once, then turns toward you Maybe lost things know what they should do [Ելք] When the string went slack, we let it go Two small hands beneath a widening blue Somewhere past the hill, it carried on And left us looking up, then walking home
