Lyrics
[Verse 1] Laundry on the chair, Books on the floor A sock in the lamp, Receipt by the door I lost my keys again In a hoodie pile Still i’m grinning at the mess Like, “stay awhile” Paper birds on the desk From a hundred notes Half a bag of chips In the planter pot My brain’s got tabs open All over the place But i found a little joy In the chaos face [Pre-Chorus] Tick, tick, little sparks In the clutter stacks Oh, my thoughts bounce back When they hit the cracks I was trippin’ on the mess Then i started to dance Now the floor is a joke And i’m in on the laugh [Chorus] Messy room, messy room I’m alive in the mess (hey) Messy room, messy room I clean later, i guess (oh-oh) Messy room, messy room Got the spark in the pile (yeah) Messy room, messy room Make a kingdom from the wild (wild) [Verse 2] Cup of cold tea on a coaster That never made it home Two gray notebooks wide open Like they’re talking alone A hoodie on the radiator A crown on the chair I keep finding little answers In the dust in the air I shake out the blanket And the beat comes back Tiny gold idea In the charger stack A grin in the mirror With a paint-specked sleeve Turn the whole place upside down And let it breathe [Pre-Chorus] Tick, tick, little sparks In the clutter stacks Oh, my thoughts bounce back When they hit the cracks I was trippin’ on the mess Then i started to dance Now the floor is a joke And i’m in on the laugh [Chorus] Messy room, messy room I’m alive in the mess (hey) Messy room, messy room I clean later, i guess (oh-oh) Messy room, messy room Got the spark in the pile (yeah) Messy room, messy room Make a kingdom from the wild (wild) [Bridge] Under the bed, there’s a story Under the chair, there’s a plan Every lost little thing Got a pulse in my hand If i sort out one corner I can sort out my mind But right now i’m shining In the beautiful bind [Chorus] Messy room, messy room I’m alive in the mess (hey) Messy room, messy room I clean later, i guess (oh-oh) Messy room, messy room Got the spark in the pile (yeah) Messy room, messy room Make a kingdom from the wild (wild) [Outro] Messy room, messy room I’m alive, i’m alive (hey) Messy room, messy room In the mess, i thrive
