The Voynich Manuscript: 600 Years Without a Single Reader

At Yale sits a 240-page calfskin book, dated to 1404–1438, written in twenty-some letters that belong to no known alphabet. Wilfrid Voynich bought it in 1912; the Friedmans and Bletchley's John Tiltman all tried and failed. Why can no one read it?
