The Flannan Isles Lighthouse: Three Men and an Empty Tower

On 26 December 1900 the supply ship Hesperus reached the Flannan Isles lighthouse and no one came down to meet it. Inside, the lamps were trimmed and ready for the night. At the west landing, iron railings were bent and turf torn from the rock far above the sea.
