The Eighth Strike

On a foggy night at North Cape, the lighthouse bell strikes a forbidden eighth time — and out of the white murk comes the Saint Martha, a ship listed as lost by the northern reefs, whose captain asks keeper Egor to light a fire that kerosene cannot make.
